CONCIERGE / MAINTENANCE CUSTODIAN
Day-to-day upkeep, small repairs and clean common areas across our Montreal residential buildings.
Based on experience
First Quebec Holdings Inc. and Corporation Genix have managed multi-family residential buildings in Montreal since 1996. We are looking for a concierge to look after our buildings day to day: cleanliness, small repairs, and common areas that simply work.
This is a role for someone resourceful, who takes pride in a job done properly and who quickly becomes a familiar, reassuring presence for tenants.
What you will do
- Maintain the common areas: corridors, entrances, stairwells, laundry rooms and indoor parking
- Handle garbage, recycling and bulky-item collection on the City's schedule
- Carry out small repairs: basic plumbing, locks, paint, light fixtures
- Turn apartments over between tenants (cleaning, touch-ups, inspections)
- Clear snow from entrances and handle seasonal grounds upkeep
- Flag anything to management that needs a specialized contractor
- Take the occasional after-hours emergency call
Requirements & skills
- Two years in caretaking, building maintenance or a related trade
- Comfortable with hand tools and everyday repairs
- Valid driver's licence — you will move between our buildings
- Able to lift and to work on your feet
- Honesty and good judgment — you will hold the keys to the buildings
- Patience and an easy manner with tenants
- Spoken French
